Who is Krishna

Who is Krishna?
A good question indeed!

We have heard so much about him, as a child who used to steal maakhan (butter), who used to run away with cloths for gopis, while they were taking bath, or as a hero of Mahabhaarat, who instrumented the victory for Pandavas.

Mostly we remember him as a philosopher, who preached Gita.

So much contrast, a playful person and at the same time very serious person.

As per Puraans, he is the "Poorna Avataar" of Lord Vishnu. But he came as human on this planet so he has all the sixty four qualities, described by shastra for a "complete man".

I saw the advertisement for Raymond Suitings. It talks about the "Complete Man".

Who is the "complete man"?

In my view, nobody except Krishna can be one.

I saw a conversation on a news channel in between Swami Agnivesh and classical dancer Sonal Man Singh.

Sonal Man Singh said, a person wasted his/her life if he/she does not indulged into the masti of krishna charita, does not became mad with masti of his flute and does not realised him with his/her emotions with eyes full of tears and heart totally impatient to have a glimpse of his sweet face.

She certainly has visualised him!!.

Scriptures says, he is so beautiful even Kaamdev is reluctant to get compared with him.

Scriptures says, he is so knowledgeable even Goddess Saraswati is reluctant to speak infront of him.

Scriptures says, he is who, after getting whom, nothing is left to get!!

Ok Ok....but who is he?

So much description is given about him, without telling about him.

Scriptures says, "He is Poorna Para Bramha".

What else anybody wants to know about him?

One common question, if he is a "Poorna Avataar", then why he acted like a human?

Simple because he wanted to give a lesson that how an ideal person should be. In Geeta, he says "All the persons follow me, so if I do anything improper the universe will be destroyed". If he would have acted as a God here then people woyuld have thought that because his godly powers he did all that, how we can do that?

He came as an human being here, he acted as an human being and left this planet as an human being.

There was a teaching in whatever he did.

Ok, forget about all that.

I donot want to put any logic here. It is Janmashtami time. The time when he came on this planet. Time for feasting and cherishing and enjoing!!

Forget about all logics. Logic is dry, there is no masti in that.

Just see, how beautiful is he, his face, his hands, his legs. How blissful is his flute.

I remember Madhurashtam by Vallabhacharya. In the perfect state of bliss, when he would have got indulged into the sweetness of Krishna, he would have written these lines:

adharam madhuram vadanam madhuram,
nayanam madhuram hasitam madhuram,
hrdayam madhuram gamanam madhuram,
madhuradi-pater akhilam madhuram"
His lips are sweet, His face is sweet. His eyes are sweet, His smile is sweet. His heart is sweet, his walk is sweet. Everything is sweet about the Lord of sweetness." (1)

vacanam madhuram charitam madhuram,
vasanam madhuram valitam madhuram,
calitam madhuram bhramitam madhuram,
madhuradi-pater akhilam madhuram
"His words are sweet, His character is sweet. His garments are sweet, His navel is sweet. His movement is sweet, His wanderings are sweet. Everything is sweet about the Lord of sweetness." (2)

venur madhuro renur madhurah,
panir-madhurah padau madhurau,
nrtyam madhuram sakhyam madhuram,
madhuradi-pater akhilam madhuram
" His flute is sweet, His dust is sweet. His hands are sweet, His feet are sweet. His dancing is sweet, His friendship is sweet. Everything is sweet about the Lord of sweetness." (3)

gitam madhuram pitam madhuram,
bhuktam madhuram suptam madhuram,
rupam madhuram tilakam madhuram,
madhuradi-pater akhilam madhuram
"His singing is sweet, His yellow dress is sweet. His eating is sweet, His sleeping is sweet. His form is sweet, His tilaka is sweet. Everything is sweet about the Lord of sweetness." (4)

karanam madhuram taranam madhuram,
haranam madhuram smaranam madhuram,
vamitam madhuram samitam madhuram,
madhuradi-pater akhilam madhuram
"His activities are sweet, His liberation is sweet. His thieving is sweet, His loving sports are sweet. his offerings are sweet, His peacefulness is sweet. Everything is sweet about the Lord of sweetness." (5)

gunja madhura mala madhura,
yamuna madhura vici madhura,
salilam madhuram kamalam madhuram,
madhuradi-pater akhilam madhuram
"His gunja-mala is sweet, His flower-garland is sweet. Is Yamuna is sweet, His ripples are sweet. His water is sweet, His lotuses are sweet. Everything is sweet about the Lord of sweetness." (6)

gopi madhura lila madhuram,
yuktam madhuram bhuktam madhuram,
hrstam madhuram sistam madhuram,
madhuradi-pater akhilam madhuram
" His Gopis are sweet, His pastimes are sweet. His meeting is sweet, His food is sweet. His happiness is sweet, His etiquette is sweet. Everything is sweet about the Lord of sweetness." (7)

gopa madhura gavo madhura,
sastir madhura srstir madhura,
dalitam madhuram phalitam madhuram,
madhuradi-pater akhilam madhuram
"His cowherd boys are sweet, His cows are sweet. His herding-stick is sweet, His creation is sweet. His trampling is sweet, His fruitfulness is sweet.Everything issweet about the Lord of sweetness." (8)

In my view no better prayer for him.

Just forget everthing.

Who is Krishna?

Krishna is playfullness of an innocent child, Krishna is sound of every celebration, Krishna is silence of an ascetic.

Krishna has not gone anywhere. He can not go. He is as addicted to his Bhaktas, just like his Bhaktas are addicted to him!!

So sweet about Lord of Sweetness!!

He is here, inside all of us. Let us become addicted to him, his everything, what he does, how he plays his flute, how he dances with Gopis and how he preaches Gita.

And we will come to know who Krishna is!!!

HARI OM TATSAT!!
